Vienna Cavazos

Biography

Vienna Cavazos (they/them) is a passionate young activist and advocate, fighting for LGBTQIA+ rights, gun violence prevention, voting rights, and mental health. Originally from San Antonio, TX, they moved with their family at age 16 when their home state moved to criminalize gender-affirming care, and have called the First State home since 2022.

In Delaware, Vienna became involved in advocacy to ensure that no one else would feel forced to relocate due to hate. They connected with local advocacy groups, fostering a deep love for civic engagement and community involvement. Vienna is especially passionate about the role of youth-led advocacy in movement spaces and works to engage young people in Legislative Hall.

They have recently led campaigns for trans rights at both the state and national level, youth “Get Out the Vote” efforts for the 2024 election, and youth organizer training programs.

Vienna currently serves as Vice-Chair of Delaware’s LGBTQ+ Commission, Hub Coordinator for Generation Vote in Sussex County, National LGBTQIA+ Public Policy Director at Bulletproof Pride, and Co-Facilitator for Trans Refuge Now.

Their work focuses on the intersections of democracy, gun violence prevention, youth advocacy, and LGBTQIA+ justice. Above all, they are an activist at heart.

Coming from a working-class Latine family, Vienna believes that a better tomorrow is not only possible, but worth fighting for.
