Kaelea Shaner
Biography
Kaelea (“kay-lee”) Shaner is a law student at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. Prior to her legal education, Kaelea cultivated a decade of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion where she has focused on social justice, education, and LGBTQ+ belonging. As a law student, she has been awarded Temple’s Rubin Presser Social Justice Fellowship.
She serves on the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s Law Student Congress, which provides resources for queer law students around the country. She also serves on the Interdisciplinary Review Committee for the Charlene Arcila Trans Wellness Collective, which hosts Philadelphia’s annual Trans Wellness Conference (where she has led workshops and delivered the keynote address).
Outside of her work, Kaelea enjoys tabletop gaming, especially her weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaign. She is also an avid video gamer, film buff, and writer. She currently lives in Wilmington, where she spends time haunting coffee shops or trekking through one of Delaware’s beautiful parks.
