Lacey Eriksen

Biography

Larissa “Lacey” Eriksen (They/Them) is a communications professional based in Wilmington, Delaware. A born and raised Delawarean, Lacey’s advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community began in high school, where they founded their high school’s Gay Straight Alliance (GSA). Since then Lacey has lent their time to various community organizations, largely in the arts, passionate about the inclusion of queer stories and representation in the art we consume.

Professionally, Lacey has a diverse background, with experience in the arts, nonprofits, digital agencies, and government. They served as former Lt. Governor Hall-Long’s Public Engagement Specialist, working with stakeholders from across the state on various initiatives based in health and human services. Their time working for the state led to them creating and leading the LGBTQ+ Community Leader’s Call for the Lt. Governor’s office, with the goal to open dialogue, build stronger relationships, and encourage collaboration between the state government and LGBTQ+ advocates throughout Delaware.

They built upon this work by advocating and then collaborating with Hall-Long to create Executive Order 1 that established the LGBTQ+ Commission for the state. As the Outreach Committee chair, they care deeply about using their seat at the table to bring forth concerns of the community, continue to collaborate with advocates throughout the state, and do what they can to ensure Delaware is delivering for the queer community.
